Accelerating Trust - [Congressional Room]
Speakers:
Nancy Van Milligen, Alex Dixon, Eshauna Smith
One of the greatest barriers to equitable grantmaking is limited trust across identity and lived experience. In this session, we will hear how local and national leaders are building trust across identities and sectors in order to drive more equitable funding processes, requirements, and outcomes.
Co-Designed with Anderson Sainci (City of Dubuque, Iowa; Millennial Impact Fellow ‘17)
Bending the Arc Within: The Messy Work of Transforming Historically White Philanthropies and Organizations - [Senate Room]
Speakers:
Eliza Greenberg, Dr. Robert S. Harvey, Nita Baum
In this time of expanded racial consciousness, white social entrepreneurs, white funders, and white staff across the social sector have been grappling––unsuccessfully, haltingly, and at times effectively––with a fundamental question: what is the work of white folx in advancing justice right now? In this session we will hear from a historically white foundation that has become a leader in racial equity work, a nonprofit that is midway through its transition to shared leadership, and a consultant who has been marking patterns across the sector. If we are successful, white participants will leave the room with greater accountability to our BIPOC grantees and colleagues and deeper clarity on how each of us might respond to that critical question.
Co-Designed with Sixto Cancel (Think of Us), Curt Ellis (FoodCorps), and Gerry Roll (Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky)
Building Democracy: Centering Race While Bridging Place and Class - [Cannon Room]
Speakers: Gerry Roll, Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, Demetric Dukett, Ryan Eller, Stacie Fugate
Inequity between philanthropic investments made to urban centers and coastal states compared to those made in Black communities, rural places, and Native lands is growing. In this session we will discuss the critical need to promote solidarity among the disenfranchised without losing focus on the overarching issue of racial inequities that continue to plague our nation.
Co-Designed with Gerry Roll (Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky) and Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson (Children’s Defense Fund)
Building Your Own (Intergenerational) Table - [Russell/Hart Room]
Speakers:
Dr. Isaac Cudjoe, Morgan Dixon, Nelson Johnson, Dillon Bernard
Even when we recognize why building bridges across generations is vital, how we do it can be challenging, especially if there are differences in vision or values across generations. Join us for a solutions-oriented, multigenerational conversation featuring leaders who are pushing forward transformative change through community organizing, coalition-building, media, and beyond.
Co-Designed with Dillon Bernard (Amplify Pledge, Dillon Bernard Media) and Rafiq Kalam Id-Din (Ember Charter School)
From Youth Voice to Youth Power - [Dirksen Room]
Speakers:
Romero Wesson, Chris Chatmon
Join multigenerational facilitators to identify how to more authentically engage young people in building the present as well as the future. In this session, we will explore strategies through case studies and discussion, as well as make space to reflect on and make commitments for our own work.

Giving Workers Access to Capital: Just Do It Already! - [Longworth Room]
Speakers:
Jeshua John, Melissa Hoover, Ian Fuller
Because of the way our country and economy were built on racist practices, workers and their ideas about how to transform this country for the better have largely been excluded by people with money and power in the U.S. Those same people now have an opportunity to make a different choice to reverse this trend. Join us for an interactive panel that will embark on a three-part journey of listening, learning, and visioning about how and why.
Co-Designed with Adrian Haro (The Workers Lab) and Ellen Horing (Highgate Partners)
A New Paradigm for the Private Sector - [Rayburn Room]
Speakers:
Teresa Hodge, Jamie Sears, Jasmine Thomas, Felix Ruano
This session aims to explore and illuminate how the private sector can serve as a driving force for advancing more equitable opportunity in America. Using timely examples as a tool for appreciative inquiry, we’ll consider how each of us can enlist actors across sectors to forge partnerships and the ways that leadership, social capital, timing, and mental models enable greater progress in private sector efforts to affect change at scale.
Co-Designed with Teresa Hodge (Mission: Launch, Inc.) and Jamie Sears (UBS)
Teach With the Babies: Intersectionality in Praxis, A Working Session - [Commerce Room]
Speakers:
Monet Umana, Sage Dolan-Sandrino, David Johns, Brittany Packnett Cunningham
