What is the well?

Honest dialogue

with a strong
bias for action.

The Well will enable social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other social impact leaders to take stock and lay the groundwork for us to collectively strengthen our nation as we approach America’s 250th birthday in 2026. Together, we will listen, learn, and create brave spaces for honest dialogue with a strong bias for action. We will prioritize our health and well-being as changemakers so we can prepare for the work ahead. We will also make time for joy, fun, and celebration.

How do we build the well?

Building The Well Experience
Through Co-Design

New Profit is honored to collaborate with a visionary group of social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other social impact leaders from across sectors to design programming and content for The Well. The co-design group represents a wide range of viewpoints and experiences, helping us advance our larger aspiration of building a multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector coalition for change.

What is new profit?

For social entrepreneurs

by social entrepreneurs

New Profit is a venture philanthropy organization that backs social entrepreneurs who are advancing equity and opportunity in America. New Profit exists to build a bridge between these leaders and a community of philanthropists who are committed to partnering and catalyzing their impact. New Profit provides unrestricted grants and strategic support to a portfolio of organizations led by visionary social entrepreneurs to increase their impact, scale, and sustainability. It also partners with social entrepreneurs and other cross-sector leaders to shift how government and philanthropy pursue social change to ensure that all people can thrive. Since its founding in 1998, New Profit has invested over $350M in 130+ organizations and, through the America Forward Coalition’s collective advocacy efforts, has unlocked over $1.7B in government funding for social innovation.

At the well, we will:

Restore & nourish

Restore and nourish ourselves in community with social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and other social impact leaders.

Build relationships

Connect with each other and build a multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector coalition for change.

Create a positive vision

Move beyond what needs to be dismantled and create a positive vision for what an alternative world looks like, with a focus on what our community can do to get there.
